The Harbor Hide-A-Way In Shelburne Vermont

On Wednesday September 12th The Automaster began it's demolition project on The Harbor Hide-A-Way, a once popular and unique restaurant that had recently become a crumbling eyesore.  The Harbor Hide-A-Way encompassed several old buildings, including a house, shed, and garage, and they were all falling apart.  Today just a shell of the original once thriving restaurant remained.

According to the Shelburne Town Clerk, the restaurant was built in the 1940's by Dr. Wallace White, an optometrist and his wife Elenaor.  Wallace White built the restaurant as a small summer business, but over the years started adding on room after room.  Wallace White eventually sold the restaurant in 1983 to John Ondovchik who ended up closing it several years later after the Shelburne Road expansion project took place.

The Automaster purchased the old Harbor Hide-A-Way restaurant on it's 13.2 acre parcel from the family of John Ondovchik in early September of this year, and they plan on using the additional space that the restaurant once occupied to eventually expand the dealership.
